Once the property is approved then you go to the section 8 office to sign the lease. 

We bought her our of the lease basically by offering an early termination contract and paying her last months rent.

So resist the urge and remember section 8 folks won't care about exposed brick and loft like amenities.

Though the basement will not have a full kitchen, I may be able to use it for comparative purposes related to occupancy.I may do yet another experiment in future renting by room using 1, 3 or 6 month leases targeting medical students and see how that route compares.

And if this is a multi-tenant building, ask them if the other tenants have NNN leases or gross leases.
