I'd add that a prospective tenant can fake anything, including the social security number and identity they are applying under, but forgery is a pretty serious crime to commit against someone who will literally know where you live.

I've seen peoples' lives temporarily ruined by identity theft and do not want to fall victim to this man.As to the tenant who showed me the house, he was not "Rob."

Those properties tend to be first to fall as when interest rates hopefully drop in coming years more of the better built vintage homes with larger lots and mature landscaping are put on the market.

Also, consider the maturity of the loan and whether there are any balloon payments, so you can plan ahead for a refinance at that time if there is enough equity.
