What really got me was that, so many different people have so many different situations of their lives and they All have found REI put their mind to it, have became so successful and retire from their jobs to start in this field full time or even just sit back and used the cash flow to travel or towards their hobbies.

I'm just an extremely hungry individual and it's not about retirement or having nice things.

I'm 27 and hope to retire from my current job by 40. 

Unfortunately the military medically retired me.

I'm acquiring rentals to help offset my income so I can eventually walk away completely or at least first change jobs to work less hours and spend more time with family, even if it pays less then the rental income will help there, but continue building my portfolio so I can in the near future retire completely from a w-2 job to enjoy life experiences with my children before they are all grown and out of the house.

I am contemplating buying and holding single family homes for cash flow as a means to retire in 10 years. 

Do you ever plan on retiring?   

If you are investing it's a way to provide yourself a better retirement.

While places like Indy and cleveland may cashflow better now, looking for instantaneous returns is very short sighted unless your goal is to retire in the next few years.
