The price was so good (in hindsight) that I should have purchased the property regardless of if I could add the ADU at reasonable cost (I likely could not because of the septic leach field being where the ADU was to be placed and the cost to hook to sewer).

I am 66yrs old and someday I may outsource it too, but I really enjoy managing the units.  

My wife and I are a team as well, she is also in the construction field, she is part owner of a General Contractor Construction Company.

I'm currently doing well at my job and enjoying it, and am not looking to quit and jump into RE for a little while.

I’ve always enjoyed it and never minded having people in my home.

One column I have in my software is a memo field for each transaction where I sometimes need to explain how and why I transferred money from one bank account to another, or why I paid $18,000 for some appliances.As for writing off expenses, I hate the word WRITE OFF.

I now pay approximately $1,000 a month less and enjoy the benefits of ownership.
