Do they support the value you need to spend the money to convert it to a duplex?  

Hello everyone, I just joined Pro a week or so ago and have listened to numerous podcasts. 

I have been a chiropractor for 18 years and am looking to get into buy and hold real estate investing that can support me in retirement.

Not exactly with me as an investor...but I was building a house for an investor so I guess that counts...So I was walking through a rough inspection with a newer Building Inspector and he was calling out all kinds of mistakes he was seeing - where's the 4x4 from that top plate to the beam....where's the support for the brace?

I don't remember ever seeing a national bank or mortgage co or broker support youth sports or the arts or anything in my community.  

I'd have to find a different property manager as the one we're currently using would certainly charge more for that kind of support.

I should add that it is a family business and I have already expressed my interest in learning a lot more about the business than just keeping the books and So far they seem very supportive.

I have made numerous offers and have come up short.
