I know the basics of contract assignment and read about Joe Mccall's course on assigning Lease/Option contracts and watched his YT vids and my curiosity is piqued..Is there anyone in the greater New Orleans area doing this and has some helpful advice for a new kid?

In this one the voucher holder gets their own bedroom (if they are single), kids under 10 are two to a room, and over 10 are two to a room of the same sex.

Specific advice: If you had 100k cash saved up today and you were a Newbie in Real Estate (with good risk tolerance, no kids or wife and in a safe financial situation where I can afford my basic needs and don't need to work for the next 3 months), how would you spend it? 

I had a guest that said they had an ID verification on their AirBNb profile and once we got police report back it turned out that they were younger than my requirement in addition to not having same name as profile.

Tell them they can rent it or buy it through a bank.in addition the expense of the foreclosure or whatever you need to do to clear title and get it back in your name  ..
