Unacceptable fees would be "application fees" "prepaid points" or anything that doesn't look applicable to them actually engaging with others for services.A Due Diligence Fee is complete and total BS.  

By the time you are finished with the project, I'm sure your cheap bones would be even "cheaper" from all the backbreaking labor you're engaging in, haha. 

I do make sure that I'm posting at least once a day across these platforms so my/our colleagues/followers know that I'm present.The key is visibility, engagement, and responsiveness.

***Otherwise, we've found that those companies that engage and help our members with their questions in areas where you have expertise, tend to get a good amount of business as a result from simply participating on our forums.

+1 to @Ned Carey's comments and I would add, the sooner you engage a lawyer the better...even before you negotiate too many terms.

Bryan is right though when you go to these events there might be ONE pitching real estate the rest are pitching some business  lots of software .. gamer stuff whole variety of things other than real estate.. these folks are looking to be the next ground floor investors in Google or FAcebook.not generally interested in a real estate deal since real estate frankly is not that complicated and they can do them themselves.  

The homes are modular meaning they will be dropped off and go through final assembly on site but it forgoes the GC's need to manage the build process for the duplexes themselves, this element (home construction) is the riskiest part of the build in our estimation with the greatest dollars allocation, by going modular we engage a highly experienced team that is contractually obligated to provide us with the units at a set price and provide a total of 8 years of roof to foundation warranty on the home.

When you invest in real estate, you engage in a secure venture.

Also, just ask why they think you should choose them, totally fair.Once you've chosen one, I'd say to make sure you stay engaged.
