My current employer purchases narrow body aircraft and leases them to airlines throughout the world so many of the economic principles (prudent asset/liability management, active asset management and conservative cash flow management) and analytical metrics (margin/spread analysis, IRR, ROA, etc) translate well to the real estate industry.I’ve been reading books/blogs and listening to podcasts and 2 things have become evident to me: 1 – the more I learn the more I see how little I know and,2 – there is a myriad of ways to find, finance and exit a property.

@Jamiel Strickland, I'm doing 2 rehabs in Detroit right now and to be honest it's incredible what some guys will do if no one is watching, basically leave time bombs, I'm watching the rehabs like a hawk and I've had to stop work a few times because they were doing stuff that if I'm not watching them they close the walls, paint and you would never know the mess they created, incredible; I had an out of state investor recommend me his guy, was saying he did great work, I passed by one of his rehabs, omg, the shoddy work was so evident, of course once he closes the walls no one will notice.
