Shutting it down for days or weeks could be problematic.Renters insurance should cover your belongings and if you didn't have renters insurances, I would submit the request to the management company.

You should notify the tenant of the violation - in writing - and give them XX days to correct the violation and submit to a reinspection to verify compliance.

Hi All,I recently submitted a permit application to Baltimore City asking them to allow me to convert my currently MFH R-8 zoned 3 unit into a 4 unit building.

If the tenant submitted the work order stating the thermostat is dead, the PM should have asked if the tenant replaced the batteries, and if not, to try that first.
