Thankfully that has not happened.Background checks, I use RSI Tenant screening but I also use cozy.com for my rents so I suppose I could use cozy for my screening needs too.

The trick here is really doing your due diligence and absolutely screen each applicant.  

Offer a tenant a nice home, at reasonable rent, screen carefully, and you will have an appreciative, long-term tenant. 

It's taken me a while, with my homeowner's mindset, to realize that there are people who will rent maybe forever, who are not or who cannot buy their own houses, and these can be fantastic people to attract.Put it all in writing, go over expectations clearly, SCREEN your applicants well, and offer good quality housing at the average rent for the area or even a hair below, and you're off to a good start. 

GoDaddy (or any other) .com runs approx $15/year, Zoho mail will let you use their mail for FREE with your URL so you can have you @yourdomain .com from them for no additional cost, up to 10 users... heck they even let you customize it with your own logos and offer a custom login screen mail.yourdomain.com with your logo...
