There are people that might be doing things quicker, but there is a lot to say for getting quality properties that attract quality tenants.  

Is there a better/ quicker way to get my money out to reinvest before then?

You need alot of units---not just 1 or 2---to generate real income.5) But the condo loan has very few costs and you can save your money to make better investments in the future.6) It's not popular but my philsophy has been to start out with a small property that you own free and clear (or work towards that goal), cars that you own (or work towards that goal), and get control of other expenses so that a majority of your salary goes into the bank;7) If you make alot of money via active income get a solo 401k since that can grow alot quicker than an IRA. 

What is quicker about wholesaling that would make a person accept 70-80% of FMV to get it over with?

I look at it like this: the money will flow much quicker if I already have those relationships set up.

Lower price points rent much quicker, making shortages in those price points demand-driven.

I would have received more profit and a quicker turn around that way

Modulars should not deteriorate any quicker with proper care. 

Not sure the cost but maybe it could be worth it they can actually help you get things done quicker.

Which in turn you can apply towards the balance and pay the property off quicker giving you even more cash flow.
