My partner was thinking about buying a property in the range of the 30-60k so we could pay it off sooner but the more I listen to BP and read on the forums, buying in those types of areas lends itself to worse problems down the line and renters we might not enjoy too much.

With that said, I also made it clear that she is more than welcome to buy equity and enjoy the benefits of ownership.Your emotional relationship is different than your financial relationship; this is just business.In my case, her moving in is cheaper than if she rented/bought her own place independently.If you both moved into a new place (rented or bought), you would likely split all the costs.Joe

That said, I've supported clients who haven't hit that gross amount as they simply don't enjoy bookkeeping, are bad at it, or have too many properties to handle (sometime "too many" can be 1 or two properties).
