Nothing is wrong with taking a job to learn an industry, process, procedures, make contacts, etc... and then (sometime later) applying what you've learned, and connections made into your own business.

Lessons learned?

I am looking to learn about note investing and also looking to buy 1st position performing notes. 

We were so over budget and some of the budget went to Items that add very little value (such as new plumbing and electrical) that I suspect we barely added more value than the cost.
