It is my understanding that if you went with the intent of engaging in RE business and in doing so you scheduled appointments in advance of your trip and you have a paper trail that can prove this e.g emails, then you can write off a portion of your trip.

Bryan is right though when you go to these events there might be ONE pitching real estate the rest are pitching some business  lots of software .. gamer stuff whole variety of things other than real estate.. these folks are looking to be the next ground floor investors in Google or FAcebook.not generally interested in a real estate deal since real estate frankly is not that complicated and they can do them themselves.

The homes are modular meaning they will be dropped off and go through final assembly on site but it forgoes the GC's need to manage the build process for the duplexes themselves, this element (home construction) is the riskiest part of the build in our estimation with the greatest dollars allocation, by going modular we engage a highly experienced team that is contractually obligated to provide us with the units at a set price and provide a total of 8 years of roof to foundation warranty on the home.
