I’ve since sold it but I also had section 8 rental here in Quincy, MA last year and it took less than a month for Metro Housing to increase rents on my former condo as well so I disagree with the other posters that say it’s like that for all Section 8.

@John T.I totally agree that it’s a good idea for would-be investors in Mexico to know about these things but don’t we already all know about them.I however totally disagree with the importance you seem to attach to it and it’s relevance.After all, it’s normal and healthy to have differences of opinion.

I have a couple that disagree with me, but for the most part they all recognize it.

Its not that I totally disagree, in the sense it may work for the poster, but I think it's haphazard for people to follow that so simply.I personally do not have an 8 yr recoup goal.

I will disagree with the last part of your post though on hiring a property manager which no doubt you are going to get suggestions anyway you need one. 

So I do not disagree with you as far as finding a more recent build, and it being a better investment.

If you choose to disagree, that is indeed your option. 

I am not disagreeing with you, however that same thing can be said for certain areas of every city in the world.
