@Rob Currie Thank you for your service.Between a VA vs FHA loan, I would recommend you go the VA route for your 1st 4-plex.

Luckily I used the VA loan and didn't put any money down.

We're beginning the process of renting out our VA home so any advice on how to build up from here feel free to share!

Literally everything was completed and ready to close except the VA appraisal.

You do have a great benefit being able to qualify for a VA loan, 0% down and credit is not a big factor.

Buy a multifamily with VA loan & rent out other units or try same strategy with FHA loan....$25k is a good start but likely not enough to buy a property all cash & do repairs needed.
