I currently have seven STRs myself in this market and all of my clients have found great success as well.

Its set me up to be oblivious to the majority of the costs that other companies are charging.I'm finishing up 2 houses right now (3 story start to finish builds) and I'm pursuing building for myself next.  

Going from a 20 minute commute to a 45 minute commute, and giving up a 4 bedroom 2 bath detached single family house for a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom unit in a plex with a shared wall, if that's the entirety of the story, does not make sense, that looks like occupancy fraud.

(You can skip my sob story and just read this:) One strategy we are thinking of is to get a 2nd job to pay the monthly minimum on the loans.

Some of the "Rookie" podcast episodes are great in telling the story of people starting out and might help you get some confidence in knowing how to overcome challenges that may arise.   

Depending on how your numbers worked out this could be a cool story.

For what it's worth, it's a 2200sq ft, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, gameroom, 2 story house.

Similar story as to most, one used to be a primary, got out, moved turned it into a rental then bought a new primary.
