I ask because you can turn this property into a short-term rental on platforms such as Airbnb/ VRBO.

As long as everything works (lights, plumbing, etc.) and there are no hazards (like an open ground) the big things are peeling paint (particularly on window sills) and smoke detectors.

But what jumped out to me was the immeasurable in terms of dollars:“But our family has grown!”

Rents per unit are about 1K for long term tenants, although I'm likely to do STR or at least a combination of the two.

@Doug Smith  I like all the cash buyers, who are cash buyers as long as the property can be bought Sub2 or with 100% owner financing. 

This would have to be retroactive to the date of her Active Duty enlistment (or orders if guard/reserve) and apply up to 6mo after her Date of Separation.It can be a long hard road, but well worth it. 

Airbnb’s in this route are hot with some of them having 6 months of waitlist.Does anyone have any experience in short term rentals in Mexico?

@Jodie Cordell house hacking is a great strategy as long as you can stomach living next to guests or tenants depending on the strategy.
