For SD's in cook country each tenant is required to have a separate account, in Milwaukee they don't so each LLC has a separate account for all the security deposits for the tenants under that LLC

Up keep and other expenses, which you have deferred on your home, are a major part.As a renter you would obviously not gain equity in the property you are renting but you would grow equity in the income property you invest in along with the income you receive from your renters.Since you can not put food on the table from equity being a renter yourself will put you farther ahead financially each month than living in a home you own.  

I'm curious as to what impact this will have on the economy and how to plan for it in a way that doesn't involve stockpiling food and bullets (not that there's anything wrong with being prepared!)
