I mean if you have 200k then you can start there, but if you have 60k and can mathematically do it I'd say it is a HUGE mistake to start there.If you have anything under 100k to start with, then your first deal should be a nice beginner deal.

While that is a huge jump in deductible, my thinking is that we should avoid submitting any claims anyways since that would likely result in premiums being jacked up the following year or even droppage of coverage.

The reason I say that is because from the wording in your post, your still fairly early on in the process and may be susceptible to falling for the "next best thing" pitch that you'll find all too common both in BP as well as out of the forums.
