I am trying to find the most relevant information for our strategy to ensure we get the best joint tax deduction options against MY W2 income.Is the following strategy correct?

I'm underwriting an 80+ unit property and it seems like the purchase price is too high compared to the market.

I’m allowed to withdraw 10% per year up to the ten years.

I'm borrowing at the rate of ~7% and 7% is a great return to me, especially with the stock market near all time highs. 

If you build (via managing a general contractor), you should (ideally) know more about how the property was built than if you bought an existing home--you know what's behind the walls, and ideally you might avoid anything wrong with buying an existing home with issues you and your inspector didn't catch.I understand there's risk to building--it just seems right now that the risk is lower than buying an existing house--a house where you simply cannot know every detail without tearing it down to the studs and doing a complete remodel.

In addition I would add to make sure the management company hires LICENSED property managers.
