There are some who do, but they usually have a specialty that deals with all sorts of homeowners; for example, I had to have a tension spring replaced on a garage door at my house where I live, and the repair guy said he accepted credit cards.

Depends on alot of factors, but - ultimately both of you have to be satisfied with the deal, otherwies the aggravation, tension and recriminations will never be worth the profit.
