While you may not reap the full benefits of the home run deals, you most likely have higher liquidity and can escape from the deals if needed (but you will also have to leave the good ones).I have also seen a hybrid of these two.

I primarily buy/hold, but when I do my numbers before I buy, I also have to see a working "escape" route whereby if things start falling apart, I can at least recover what I have into the property and walk away with my shirt on.
