Few agents have the experience and ability to let "the numbers speak" on a deal and not make it emotional (which is what is required for an investment). 

Am I being crazy and putting too much emotion/desire into this?

Emotions need not be considered. 

Ignore the emotional, you’ll find out the hard way some folks are like that and some lead sources aren’t the best.

Dont get emotionally attached to any property. know your max number and dont go over even 100 bucks. 

This is my first rental and it use to be my home, I am trying to rememeber that this is a business and to not have emotional connection to it, but it still is my asset and i don't want to see it go down the drain.

You have to weigh those factors against all the good advice you've gotten here, and make your decision based on bottom line, not emotions. 

Not just some dog that they supposedly need for emotional support, and have never discussed it with a doctor.

Many tenants tend to tug at the emotions of owners.

They have no other properties and had a strong emotional attachment to the house.
