There tub/shower has dark blue accents squares throughout.Here are the questions:  (1)  Are the oak cabinets outdated, if so need paint ideas for cabinets and walls and determine if a backsplash helps or complicates things (2)  Color to paint fireplace that will compliment walls (3) Wall colors (4) Trim, front door, etc. 

The other thing is see is people using light pastel colors like tan or green or blue in paint with a bright white border trim .

I'm trying to figure out the best course of action here.Some things to note:The basement just below this unit is large, dark and gets about 70%-80% humidity (same as the first floor unit).

If it's a neutral color and you can get away with just getting it cleaned that's what I would do.

If it’s a gut job, then I usually go semi modern with new materials.Keys is to stick to one theme throughout and work within he same color pallet.

At first I felt like I was setting for the color they had in stock... after I installed it, I love it!
