I am in the same boat.I have a bunch of SFH and I am looking to consolidate in many quads or 1-2 small apartment complexes(5-20 units).

. :) We currently have 24 units and looking to at least double that in 2025.

With a house hack you buy a single family and rent out rooms to roommates to make money OR a small mult-family (2-4 units) and rent out the other apartment(s).

I use the individual stackable units when I have space restrictions.

The first was the units were too small to be able to raise the rents significantly enough to cover the mortgage anywhere near the list price.

Buy a 2-4 unit, close to home.
