I'm new to BP as a poster, but have been lurking for awhile... side note, I did a lot of work for British Petroleum in the past, so everytime I hear/see "BP" I have to stop and do a double-take :) I'm from Upstate NY, in the Finger Lakes area, near a small city called Rochester.

It is my understanding that the housing benefit goes directly to the tenant and they can pay it to the landlord or not, as they choose.Tenants have a lot of rights in the UK, and their rights vary depending upon which country the rental is located in.There are several forums for British investors, and they are going to know the answer to your question a lot better than the American investors, on this forum, are going to know.
