It's called NOVI because was the #6 stop on the toll road (Grand River Ave) coming North West out of Detroit....or, it was named after the hometown of a Yugoslavian woman who was the wife of someone in the city government back in the very early 1900's.

You can furnish for a few grand if you get thrifty with FB marketplace and other resources.

I personally own properties in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.

A couple grand on a small one under $50k. 

If you end up where you need a little bit extra cash, just use some of the 30 odd grand you were going to use to pay off the mortgage instead.

All that being said your deal sucks and even with 30 grand off it still sucks so I’d keep looking . 1500 in rent on a 165k property is not going to work .
