With the case from that article, it seems to me the developer is just taking some profit by letting go of the retail space and focusing on the office space. 

I plan to own my own properties and want to understand what types of things most property managers do and focus on so I can hit the ground running.

There are CPAs that focus mainly on real estate, and its complexities and strategies.

I currently am a stay at home mom so my husband can focus on establishing his career as a real estate broker.

I’m still focusing on what I can bring to the table for business relationships with potential mentors and agents, I have been reading more and listening to podcasts, etc.

As Matt stated, I would focus a lot on the 5/7/10 term option.

I’ve mostly focused looking in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas and Florida.

It would take a real focused person to be able to get going in RE as a side hustle w that job... 

Does anyone have any advice on areas that should be of primary focus or items to caution against?   

So, in the meantime, I guess I can either continue to work "in" my business (which I can't deduct) for a few more years, or take a hit on the cash flow so I can focus on another purchase.
