Don't do it with a phone call, walk right into the police station and tell them you need to speak to the chief or another high ranking officer, if he is busy you will gladly wait. if they ask why you can say it's about a security issue with some apartment buildings you own and nicely but firmly insist that you must speak with him directly about it.

The listing agent took the listing for 5% and offered a 50/50 split and the seller refused to budge on price or commission, so I took my buyer elsewhere by listing and selling a parcel down the road.Many years later that same seller really needed to sell and still held firm at 5% only to find out the players with the buyers wouldn't play.
