The power company would then transfer to the landlord without telling and you get socked with a huge bill for hundreds of dollars.After this happened one time I quickly changed to when tenants power gets cut off in their name for non payment it does not revert to me the landlord.

They always say "Measure twice, cut once" ...so you catch a problem before it catches you.You could always just figure what price would make it work for you and then run it by the bank.
