I have a trip planned to go back to Detroit in August 2018.

If you want to target STR guests who are traveling for conferences, business trips, sports tournaments, etc. you won't find as much of that here as in Charlotte.

@Melanie JohnstonThanks for the awesome tips of things to check out Melanie 👍I’m actually writing this while at the airport to visit my friends in Phoenix for a Harley trip, so I’ll have to look into some of your recommendations while in town (for 10 days).I’ll check out that group and put some of my thought in a post in there once I evaluate a few of the properties in the area ( I’m curious to see how the multifamily market compares to Chicago’s).Overall I do think it makes sense for me to be more west since that’s where all my family and friends have migrated from Michigan.

Got all fried and tripped that break away rod.A quick call and it was fixed in about 2 hours.Treat them well and respect the neighborhood with quality guests and you will have a smoother time.

It is about a 50 mile round trip.

Whatever she left was deemed trash and it took me two trips to the dump.

Other issues are: AC outdoor unit trips the breaker - it might be the capacitor; 2 joists under the house need replacing; and some minor plumbing, painting, carpet and tile removal, as well as some small window replacing must be done.We just don't like to sit around and wait, but want to get involved as much as possible.

@Elizabeth Colegrove Enjoyed your Podcast #103.Been to Lemoore. the six mile trip from supply to receiving was amazing driving through corn fields, and never leaving the base.One thing I didn't hear you mention was housing allowance.I'm not buying negative cash flow, used to figuring the positive cash flow properties would cancel out the negative, but I don't do that any more.I look at appreciation and tax savings as extras, nice to have, but I'm looking at the basic numbers not counting on either appreciation or tax savings. 

That would be great if you were able to do a drive by because my trip out there is not scheduled until April as wanting to see the new build completed.
