Wow hotels are expensive there, any time of year!

As a scenario if I were to have a property in the CB area renting at say $500 a night on VRBO what’s a conservative estimate on take home vs fees like city county state taxes for hotel/vacation stays.

For my market, making like hotel might be nice, but seriously overkill. 

We went with the DBPR Division of hotels and restaurants license to be safe, as we had originally intended to have our company become a licensed RE brokerage (I hold a broker license) but realized we did not have to. 

Anyone out there on Bigger pockets go to the local Buffalo Investors and Exchangers Group that meets at the Millenium Hotel?  

But there’s a world of real estate beyond that; if your dreams and ambition is to enter the realm of 40 story office buildings, city block redevelopment, 500 acre mixed use projects or 300 room luxury central city hotels, then starting with an investment in a $80,000duplex is probably not going to get you there today.  

Don't be surprised if you have someone with full face tattoos, "no background" and references like the local hotel manager applying to rent your house.

If they have renters insurance, they can go to a hotel. 

From a renter/family point of view, especially if you are traveling with kids - My wife would not even look at an STR (or Hotel for that matter) without a pool on a beach vacation..
