I cannot envision a scenario where there will not be a cost for the value of the materials.  

As for the postcards, I listened to a BP podcast before where a person had success when the put a picture of an animal on front because the thought was people warmed to it better.

I'd advise you to either do a few deals in your local market- I don't know where you live, but yes, deals are possible there and people are investing.
