The current demographics show a predominately black neighborhood with most inhabitants living well below the poverty line.Please see this very interesting website on overtown-http://overtowner.comRegarding the difference between Overtown and Little Haiti, if you view it from a sheer geographical standpoint you can see the distinct difference.Little Haiti is a fairly large area with 2 borders that are very haute couture and 2 borders that are like a faux pas.Overtown is a smaller precinct with hot real estate in every direction.

I did meet the tenants and the current owner when I viewed the property and they all seemed like nice people.  

How does the other view this semi-deal....

FYI, the houses I viewed that were in similar states were priced so cheaply because essentially all of the value was in the land.

Account Closed Your view to me is correct about Baltimore as a whole. 

The drought has caused some communities with lake view properties to lag behind the rest of the state.  

I had an open house yesterday and had approx. 15 applicants view the property.

I have learned a lot over a short period and I am thrilled to have a place where I can network with others, learn, contribute and not feel like I am being scammed viewed as a potential buyer of some kind of product or service.As my post says, I am now officially a real estate investor after purchasing my first 2 properties in the Cleveland area. 

Your have to do that kind of thing when prospective renters are available to view.
