Trying to get an understanding on possible financing in buying a pre construction in Tulum, Maybe I can get some clarification.

What I mean by that is that, instead of having to pay 100% of the price for a pre-construction condo at the signing of the contract, you pay a certain percentage at signing and the rest during construction and/or at delivery.

There are several 'seasons'= 1) Summer (June July & August) -- about 80 days2) Foliage (October and November) -- about 60 days3) Ski Season (January February March) about 70 days4) Holidays (Christmas, New Years, Easter) about 30 days That's about 240 days .... how many do you think?

How much hassle has a pre-payment penalty been for anyone?

I am in the process of purchasing a rental property and my insurance broker came back and said that multiple insurance carriers denied the application because the property is classified as an "Ineligible Risk" we were told that their is 1 Insurance carrier that will insure but this will require a pre-insurance inspection.

And the US dollar is extremely strong. we have purchased a pre-construction townhome there to be a short-term rental. 

He was nice enough to do a "pre-inspection" to tell me what needed to be addressed before the actual inspection.
