I am really late on the this thread my company financed numerous duplexes a couple of years back for real estate investors .

I've heard numerous horror stories just this week that prompted my post here...

Five of the seven units have new roofs with numerous other capital investments. 

Over the years, I've seen numerous new builds that developed serious problems.

When they are done, walk them through turning off any lights, locking all doors, and returning the key to the lockbox.Be sure to use the push-button numerical lockbox that connects the key to the removable access face-plate, rather than the kind that dispenses the key all by itself.

I would also make sure  that you talk with numerous investors about the company.
