When I listed it I adjusted the rent to be a little higher than the comparables in my area, because it was one of the nicer ones in the area but I can't seem to get a renter. over the last 26 days, I have had 46 inquiries and 14 applications, of those 14 applications about 5 of them passed the background check and credit history check. some of them I could not get ahold of their employer or landlord which was a red flag for me. 

Assuming you get the home ready to rent before the end of this year will you be participating in its management?

What I am finding is many places are still stuck on pricing from 2 years ago.

And I bought 10 houses in Arkansas in the last year without knowing anyone in that town.

My mother has a rental property she has held for about 15 years in Washington state and has rented it out for the first 12 of those years.

.- These generally aren't a hold hands and sit in a circle and talk about your feelings environments (at least from my exposure) but generally they are frank, straight forward, and interested in passing along what they've accumulated in knowlege over the years to the next generation, and oftentimes family isn't too interested

@Jordan D'Silva very difficult to anticipate/predict changes in national and local economies, politics, etc.Detroit has been on a 10 year run, that just seems to be getting better & better overall - but, there have been multiple potholes in the journey and there will be more.

After the 3 year period to redeem property, what am I to do as the tax payer?
