I agree with the quoted answer from Chris except for one thing: in Pennsylvania, it is customary for the BUYER to select the title company - as I understand it, the reasoning being that the buyer incurs most of the costs that arise from the title company.

So, select your partners wisely.

Select your partners wisely - Realtor, Lender, 203k Consultant, and ContractorREALTOR - it's recommended to work with one that has done a 203k in the past so they know what verbiage HUD wants to be added to the purchase offer contract and how to structure the deal.

But either way, don't get discouraged, your really nice home will command a higher price and a more select tenant.Do you have a heloc now on the home?
