@Josh Smith why not do a low down payment loan, furnish a place, and rent it out while you are not there to people who have similar schedules (traveling nurses/doctors/Oil & Gas)?

I feel that Indianapolis has much more economic diversity - tech companies, pharmaceutical/medical, several colleges, manufacturing, distribution centers, hospitality/convention centers -- so we are not as affected if one particular industry takes a dive.Our real estate areas are also very diverse.

Also since I've lived here my whole life, I can say that Pittsburgh was an older population until recent years where the city is now becoming more of a tech town in addition to it's already existent medical roots.
