Rationalizing illegal activity by saying you were not born to privilege is like a shoplifter saying they stole to put food on the table. 

Charity-wise I would pick the local VA Food Pantry, that recently was shutting its doors due to lack of donations.  

Work two jobs, one for at least 2 years (stable employment with health insurance), the other could be temp jobs, or a side job working overnight in a pool room in a decent neighborhood (or something like that).Pay for sack lunches, homemade dinner and breakfast, car insurance, an inexpensive car with a good A/C and heat, holiday gifts for favorite relatives, and stay with parents for free (or a very small charge).Parents hate you and say you can't live there, get a cheap room in a nice neighborhood with similar aged people.Bankroll up your cash reserves as much as you can.Read Rich Dad Poor Dad. 

Sometimes they don't have money to move it or it's just a lifestyle of collecting things from thrift centers, food banks, christmas charities, maybe other free things and starting fresh at the next place.#4 Make sure they have a way to pay for yard care and utilities. 

left out food is a sure way to get mice in my opinion.  

That said, you've given me a lot of food for thought as to the best use of the proceeds if I do sell.

One of the reasons I like Airbnb for traveling is because I can save on food costs, by having access to a kitchen. 

Obviously passing through via the Interstate, just stopping for gas, or stopping for food in Sandusky on my way to Cedar Point isn't the same thing as thoroughly driving an area and getting a sense of the neighborhoods.
