Treat it as a business, it is not personal so keep the tenant/landlord emotions out of it.

If you don't nip it quickly it grows and your standing weakens. 

Good luck... don't let excitement take away your savings and your future, leave emotion out of it as much as you can.

So by getting emotionally involved with counting on these 2 things working out in a copacetic manner I was blinded to the fact that I was not only not thinking about each exit strategy individually...

You will find RE investing to be less quantitatively, but more emotionally, challenging than calculus.
