The idea of managing one remotely and the international struggles seem a bit daunting though....anyone have experience and advice on this?

We'll have a lightweight self-contained camper on my 4x4 truck so rustic and remote are exactly what we're looking for, with an understanding that we'll occasionally be sleeping next to the road at truck stops and borders.
