Have you identified a general contractor to build the project for you?

That will allow you to build up a network of contractors and suppliers that will enable to to address problems faster and more cost effectively.I would also recommend buying a home warranty program if you are planning to hold the property and make upgrades over time. 

I believe Meeks is contractors favorite.

My contributions would are: I have my real estate license, I live in the area we would like to invest in so I would be managing the renovation, tenant placement, and property management.

I got my real estate license and I'm loving it so far.  

On your specific question I'll follow the discussion to see what the attorneys out there will say, but the agent is the real estate license holder, as issued by the state, not their company if they incorporate... so I'd imagine that "pierces the vail".But tangentially there's also the MLS rules for agents.
