I would try going to a meeting to feel it out before joining up.

I joined the community about a week ago and have been going through the forums, articles and beginner's guide absorbing as much information as possible.

You might find a mentor or someone to shadow by joining your local REIA if you are not already a member.

Join a local REI group, find a mentor, read books and be active on BP. 

DDA was formed, which we didnt join for a few years, so they had no say what we did (Once you join, theres no leaving).

Join TREIA and the TAA.  

Great to see another local join the community.

Hello Jason,This site is a good way to do that, also you should join local real estate investing groups.Each investor is going to have their own criteria and experienced ones cantell you within 2-3 minutes if they want to pursue going further on a property,so I would recommend just getting as large a buyers list as you can andthe people with self sort as you send things out.
