Maintenance is deferred and most owners turned their units into rentals, hired property managers who did not care for tenant quality, which resulted in 10 people living in a unit, police coming over, drugs, etc and all the good people leaving.

So, one individual told us, we need to just walk on in, change the locks, let him call the police when he can't get back in, or to just post a 24 hour notice letting the occupants know that work will be started and then walk in and start taking down walls or whatever we are going to do because he's a professional tenant and knows how to play the game.So what does everyone think?

Then, you would be even more restricted as far as acceptable grounds to evict her, from my understanding of Section 8 rules.Your best bet to getting her out before November, would be to start documenting her behavior and giving her written warnings - but it would have to be behavior that is something you can evict for.Did the police come?

No, we don't think you do drugs, but we will still tell you (and our police officer tenant) that any drug related crime on the premises will get you evicted. :-)We do have friends that we wouldn't rent to.
