Hi Bigger Pocket Fam,I am new to the house hacking process and need help hacking a 4BR and 2.5Bath single-family home.

To be more specific; long hold multi-family rental properties (duplex, triplex or fourplex). 

You could do that for a period of time and get your mortgage paid off twice as fast, if that's what you wanted to do, then use a HELOC (or some other form of loan of your choosing) to renovate it into a SFH...Obviously I don't know what your family's needs are but I'd be interested in hearing if you'd considered this, if you don't mind?

Plus with larger properties, a few families can split/share the cost to rent.

Looking for cash flowing single family homes in the Portland, Beaverton, Newberg, Salem areas of Oregon.

I am open for single family, condo and multi family options. 

Over the years I'd continue to like to buy more house hacks, get my RE license and (depending on the market) acquire a few duplexes/multi-families all on a slow but consistent basis.
