You know the Chicago prop tax situation better than me, but I do recall quite a bit of room to get a huge percentage of your tax bill slashed by appealing with a good attorney with experience with those matters.Other than that, yes those numbers do not get my attention and unless you have very very good reason to believe there may be substantial appreciation of the property over time, I'd pass.
