Trevor,We also invest in Athens and it has been a great market for consistent student rentals. 

If the credit is low because of them not paying everyday bills like utility bills, car payments, cell phone bills then we will pass on them because they just don't pay any kind of bill on time or at all which isn't a good sign.If the credit is low only because of a foreclosure/bankruptcy, medical bills, or student loans AND they make well above the minimum income requirement w/ no criminal or eviction history we may explore accepting them with 2 months security. 

With OSU graduating 6000+ students a year, as the state capitol and with tax incentives attracting big business to Columbus, there are great investment opportunities here.

I'm a new investor in Kalamazoo, MI and am looking to grow my portfolio with an emphasis on student rentals close to Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College.  

There is a university there with a lot of international students, from what I hear, but I was/am trepidatious about investing so far away.  

@Taylor KennisonI agree the prices are sky high, but the constant flow of college students and the lack of economic decline is hard to pass up on.
