If you could post a picture it would help.There are few different sized boxes that are used, but usually a new light will have multiple sets of mounting holes on the bracket to compensate for different lights.If the tab is broke off the box, you may be able to use something like a toggle fastener to make it work.

well that narrows it down to a 1 out of 20 chance although I suspect 10 or so sites just won't work no matter what.Logistically Texas is down in a deep southern hole compared to other markets that are much closer transportation wise to most of the US population.
